My Bio
The name's Xena Quill. Although some refer to me as "Kathleen."

I am an author, self-taught cartoonist, illustrator and artist. And to put it simply: I love what I do!

I enjoy writing science fiction/fantasy novels for young adults. My first novel (to be published soon) is The Legend of the Twelve Gems: Zannophia. Visit my website to learn more: www.xenaquill.com

As for art, I'm happiest when I have a piece of paper in front of me and a pencil in my hand. If I could, I would doodle and draw all day long. My primary works consist of cartoons and conceptual drawings, primarily in the cartoon style. I've been told by many (and I would agree) that my cartoons have an anime-esque style to them, which is surprising since I don't usually watch anime, nor am I an overt fan of it. As a new art student, I am beginning to try my hand at new art forms, stepping out of my comfort zone. I'm also a lover of Adobe Photoshop (my dad has used it for years and I've come to enjoy it as much as he has) so sometimes I will dabble in digital art. I also enjoy photography from time to time. I am currently teaching myself animation with the guidance of some spectacular books, and I have recently begun dabbling in storyboarding, so I'd like to add that to my official repertoire of art/media interests.

My dream job is to work as an animator, concept artist, storyboard artist, or maybe as a character/sets artist at Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, California. My secondary dream job location would be at Disney or Nickelodeon animation studios in Burbank, California.

I hope you like my art as much as I enjoy making it!

P.S. I am rather fond giving out llama badges, so if you comment on my artwork or if you send me a llama, I will definitely be sending a llama your way.

So to celebrate Premium Membership Day on DA, I've decided that I'll begin offering commissions! :squee: I am currently a freshman at The University of Dallas, majoring in art. I am offering these commissions in order to earn a little money to pay for my art supplies and books. Any extra money earned after that will go to my college fund for when I go study abroad in Rome next fall semester. I'm also trying to save up to get a premium membership and I think I'm ready to work for it rather than resort to begging and asking for donations. WHAT I'M DRAWING: I'll draw a cartoon rendering of a portrait of you or anyone you wish. So I successfully earned good grades in all of my classes last semester (all A's except for one B) and ended with a 3.74 GPA, AND landed on the Dean's List! :boogie: I'm really excited about that. I'm aiming higher next semester. :D This spring semester, I'm pretty much taking the same classes, just on the second level. I have a couple of familiar instructors' faces, but I'm already liking my new instructors. I can tell that I'm really going to enjoy this semester. :woohoo: For art, I'm taking 2 studio classes including 3D Design and Basic Drawing II, and I'm in History of Art & Architecture II. Then for the core, it's Elementary Spanish II,

Finals are here, and luckily, for 2D Design and Basic Drawing I, we only have critiques. I just had my Basic Drawing I professor critique my work and it looks like I aced the course!! :woohoo: Well, for 2D we have to submit one more piece, which I intend to be done with in the next day or two since it's due on Tuesday. History of Art and Architecture is going to be considerably more difficult. But I am happy that I have solidly memoriezed more than half of the slides that may appear on the final :boogie: With some good studying (especially with my friends), I should be alright. Lit. Trad. final is going to be nerve-wracking, Spanish final no
